Alice Lan
Operations Lead at Lilia
As Lilia's Operations Lead, what impact will you have on the company and its future?
As one of the first employees of the founding team and as a generalist, I have the opportunity to build almost every function from the ground up. In the past 17 months, I’ve had the chance to dive into customer success, product, marketing, finance and operational processes. The only certainty I have is that things are always changing – my role allows me to align my top priority with Lilia’s top priority which creates immense space for professional growth and impact.
What made you choose to join Lilia?
During my search, it was important for me to find three things:
- 1. A mission I’m deeply passionate about
- 2. A founder I believe can make the “impossible” possible
- 3. Person/role fit
How do you describe Lila's mission?
Lilia’s Mission: To give women the same career, family, and lifestyle options as men through reproductive equity.
We think in the future, egg freezing will be as common as birth control. In the same way the pill liberated women sexually, egg freezing gives women reproductive liberation.
What should people know about working with a mission-driven company?
At Lilia, we make decisions based on what’s best for the customer. As a venture backed company, getting to profitability is important which means our business model also needs to make $$. I believe we’ll get there by delivering exceptional value and an incredible customer experience people are delighted they paid for. This means running experiments until we achieve product market fit and being persistent with getting customer feedback (both good and bad!)
