Sr. Manager of Business Development

The Senior Manager, Business Development will report to the VP, of Business Development and will be a key member of the team responsible for expanding Verto’s breadth of impact. This individual will be accountable for maintaining the pulse of current day-to-day operations on the Business Development team while forming relationships with internal and external partners and implementing strategies to propel Verto into its next phase of sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
– Go-to-Market Playbooks & Positioning
– Support VP of Business Development on new market entry pursuits, including market research and analysis, partnership identification and evaluation, and go-to-market strategy development
– Maintain, develop and review pricing strategy for our products and services to ensure they are competitive and aligned with market trends and customer needs.
– Conduct competitive analysis to identify market trends, potential opportunities, and potential threats to our business, and make recommendations for strategic action.
– Regularly prepare presentations, proposals, and pitches that clearly and concisely articulate the value proposition of Verto in pursuit of its growth objectives
– Team Management, Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration
– Manage a team of business development associates and co-op students providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and aligned with the company’s goals and pace
– Utilize and maintain the HubSpot CRM to track business development activities (e.g. opportunities, partnerships and relationships) and generate reports to inform decision-making as required
– Collaborate closely with the Executive team, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Corporate Development teams to ensure successful execution of business development initiatives
– Business Partnerships & Contract Negotiations
– Help generate teaming agreements with corporate partners on co-selling and co-delivery opportunities (e.g., teaming agreements, partnership models)
– Attend industry events and conferences to stay up-to-date on trends, and represent the company in a professional manner
– Negotiate and close new business deals and partnerships, ensuring alignment with company goals, values, and risk tolerance
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
– Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field; MBA preferred
– 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in the healthcare industry
– High proficiency in using CRM software – Hubspot experience is a plus
– Demonstrated success in developing and implementing business development strategies that drive revenue growth and expand customer base
Relevant skills
– Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and inform the company’s decision making with data-driven approaches
– Excellent written and verbal communications skills; presents ideas and directives clearly and persuasively and actively listens on a team and executive level
– Experience managing people, with a track record of providing effective guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members
– Experience creating, managing, developing and responding to RFPs
– Strong aptitude for building and cultivating relationships with potential partners and clients
– Passion for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; agility and comfort in managing up and down, comfort with ambiguity, ability to manage with multiple shifting priorities
