We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us as one of our founding members of the Data Engineering team. This role will have an exciting opportunity to help design and build our data system from the ground up. You will be a key contributor in establishing the technical direction and leveraging data best practices. How you will make an impact:
– Design and build scalable and cost-efficient orchestration, warehousing and modelling systems from large data sets
– Build the data infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines and observability tools, to support data pipelines
– Implement and automate data quality monitoring processes
– Create tooling to enable actionable insights for stakeholders
– Take ownership for leading and operationalizing projects
– Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to transform large data sets into patron journey insights in order to support business initiatives
– Develop and maintain documentation to capture data architecture, processes and tooling and knowledge share with the engineering team
– Participate in code review, roadmap planning, and best practice discussions
What you will bring to the team:
– 5+ years of data engineering experience
– Proven experience working in a data engineering framework (orchestration, warehousing, BI tools, etc.)
– Proficient experience with Python
– Strong knowledge of SQL and data warehouse systems
– Experience working with data stacks on cloud services
– Strong debugging skills
– Have a mindset for end to end ownership of services
– Passionate, motivated, and capable of working autonomously
– Strong communication skills and collaborative across teams
Bonus Points for:
– Designing and building data systems from the ground up
– Experience with GCP and BigQuery
– Experience working with infrastructure services/platforms (terraform, kubernetes, observability tools, etc.)
