We are looking for a Mobile Engineer on our BiblioApps team that is passionate about making an impact to help millions of library users discover more physical and digital content through their smartphones. This is an exciting opportunity to implement awesome features, build beautiful and accessible user interfaces, and improve architecture and performance on our brand new apps. If you have experience building iOS production apps in Swift, but also want to work with our Android app in Kotlin, we’d love to hear from you!

How you’ll make an impact: 

– Build and evolve modern iOS and Android apps to provide the best discovery experience for millions of users

– Enhance mobile build pipelines to streamline customer onboarding and releases

– Write robust and quality code with appropriate tests

– Take ownership for the design, development and operationalization of features

– Collaborate with cross functional members such as Product, UX, QA and other development teams

– Tackling tech debt at the right times for faster feature delivery

– Participate in code review, and best practice discussions

What you will bring to the team:

– 2+ years of professional native iOS app development experience 

– Strong knowledge of Swift, Apple frameworks (Foundation, UIKit, UIAccessibility, WebKit) and modern design paradigms

– Strong theoretical foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices

– Experience consuming RESTful API applications

– Have a mindset for end to end ownership of features

– Strong communication skills and collaborative across teams

– Passionate, motivated, and capable of working autonomously

Bonus Points for:

– Experience in a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment  

– Experience building Android apps in Java or Kotlin
