We have an excellent opportunity for a Manger, IT Operations to oversee the operations of IT within Synaptive. This includes oversight of all relevant consultants and firms, management of the help desk, infrastructure, personnel, and ensuring a high level of service. The role will be responsible for ensuring that all these functional areas are working in conjunction and effectively. The position will also be responsible for budgetary management/oversight, medium and long-term planning in coordination with other departments, and initiatives that contribute to operational excellence and the overall performance of Synaptive.


What You’ll Do          

– Oversee the IT budget, administration and maintenance of the Network, PC’s, servers, phone systems, corporate applications and other information technology equipment

– Develop and enhance team processes to increase productivity and internal client satisfaction

– Ensure that all major operational activities are consistent with IT best practices

– Develop long and medium range strategic plans of IT infrastructure, support, and operations

– Develop and update IT policies and SOP’s for infrastructure and support

– Act as Tier 3 support for help desk and infrastructure issues

– Analyze and report the progress of the projects and metrics such as help desk response time

– Manage and monitor vendors, consultants, and contractors

– Establish and maintain standards and procedures reporting and documentation

– Manage and monitor Synaptive’s internal ticketing system to ensure compliance with SLA

– Oversee the company’s IT Service Catalog and Configuration Inventory

– Develop, maintain and enhance the backup plans and solution and the patch management solution

– Manage and maintain other corporate applications including on premise and cloud-based

– Perform upgrades to servers and network equipment as necessary

– Maintain documentation of routine maintenance, systems configuration, applications, and technical reference material

– Evaluate new hardware and software offerings for suitability, improvements and cost savings

– Identify needs, test and deploys various new GPO’s, software and updates

– Create and maintain documentation, license use, procedures and network diagrams

– Audit and maintain effective controls and use of various licenses for compliance and cost efficiencies

– Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures

– Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and provide career development planning and opportunities 

– Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.  Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback

– Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition

– Maintain transparent communication through department meetings, one-on-one meeting and appropriate email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication

What You’ll Need

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

– Experience managing highly technical teams (In a geographically distributed team)

– Seven plus years of technology experience

– Strong experience with monitoring and analysis technologies

– Experience with Microsoft domain infrastructure and services such as AD, DNS, DHCP

– Technical experience collecting data through PowerShell, WMI and other solutions

– Experience managing cloud infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS, etc.)

It’d Be Amazing If You Had

– Knowledge of Cisco equipment, Cisco Net, TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN, protocols, routing protocols, and data center network design

– Experience with SOX controls
