The Knix Digital Team is looking for a Director, Site Merchandising to be shape the future of site merchandising at Knix as we are the midst of transitioning to a new site design, new back end systems, including merchandising tools such as a new Content Management System (CMS), new search engine, and new site analytics platform. We are looking for a leader who is obsessed with the customer experience, bringing together the art and science of merchandising, while partnering with cross-functional teams to bring the brand to life across digital assets.  

Keeping the customer experience at the centre of every decision, you will be responsible for leading the strategy for site merchandising across our digital storefronts. You will lead a team that oversees product taxonomy, site search and navigation, promotions, new product / colour launches, product information and supporting of site content across four eCommerce storefronts as well as managing the product listings and pricing for Knix retail stores. You will also be responsible for building a product content strategy to support new sales channels, including wholesale and Amazon. This role requires an individual with vision for how to build a digital brand experience through discovery through purchase, and beyond. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building teams, working collaboratively and delivering results.

The Opportunity

– Build and oversee a team responsible for the creation, management and delivery of site merchandising and content strategies for Knix. Your ultimate goal is to achieve revenue and margin targets, with consideration for customer behaviour, brand aesthetics, and inventory availability.

– Build strategies that support continuous optimization of the path to purchase, through the entire conversion funnel, including homepage, campaign and landing pages, product listing pages, and product detail pages. 

– Oversee team in developing merchandising and execution plans for new product launches, promotions, and other brand initiatives tailored to both new customers and returning buyers.

– Ensure site analytics and A/B testing are consistently leveraged in optimizing product placement and discoverability (homepage, collections pages, navigation, promotions, product pages).

– Partner with Product, Marketing, Customer Empowerment and Operations to improve decision support and incorporate customer feedback.

– Oversee product onboarding, including product set-up, pricing, imagery, copy, UGC across all storefronts (digital, retail, Amazon, Wholesale).

– Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes.

– Accountable to lead and develop the Merchandising Manager, Specialists and Coordinators.


– 7+ years’ experience in site merchandising and content for an e-commerce website

– 4+ years’ experience leadership experienceDemonstrated experience in delivering financial results

– Previous P&L ownership is an asset

– Must have proficiency in using web analytics and A/B testing to optimize product and category performance and related customer behaviour

– Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor direct reports

– Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams

– Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 

– Knowledge of Shopify Platform is considered a strong plus
