Over a decade ago the smart thermostat was invented by Stuart Lombard, ecobee’s founder and CEO. Today ecobee enables millions of customers to reduce their energy consumption, save money on electrical bills and shrink their carbon footprint by installing an ecobee Smart Thermostat. We are looking for a Brand Manager, Smart Thermostat to join our Brand and Marketing Operations team. In this role you will work cross-functionally and closely with Product Marketing, Marketing & Sales Channels and Creative teams to expand ecobee’s impact as a sustainability leader in the fight against climate change.

How You’ll Make an Impact:  

– Design, operationalize, and execute on annual brand plans for the smart thermostat business.

– Work in partnership with the Product Marketer, Smart Thermostats to execute on new opportunities to grow ecobee’s market share.

– Own and continually look to optimize the customer journey working in collaboration with marketing channel teams.

– Develop a deep understanding of target market psychographics to identify insightful communication strategies that connect emotionally with our target consumers and lead them through the customer journey.

– Lead full-funnel marketing campaign development and execution in collaboration with the Brand Manager of ecobee Smart Security to drive awareness, demand, and conversion of ecobee’s whole home solution expanding ecobee’s customer base, market share and impact in the fight against climate change.

– Lead execution of product launches and marketing campaigns by collaborating with sales, marketing channels and creative teams to achieve campaign objectives.

– Ensure company, product and persona messaging is on-brand throughout the customer journey and across all touchpoints such as landing pages, emails, partner pages and more.

– Forecast, measure, and report the results of initiatives, including working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate attribution.

– Lead agencies in key initiatives to achieve brand objectives as required.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:   

– 5-7 years of experience in brand/product marketing management positions developing brand strategy and annual plans through to writing communications strategy, briefing and executing tactical campaigns.

– Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or social sciences.

– Exceptional ability to lead and motivate large cross functional teams by developing thoughtful plans and having strong communication and organizational skills to accomplish complex projects.

– Experience in motivating and inspiring a creative team is an asset.

– Experience navigating a matrixed organization to drive projects from aligning senior management to strategic plans to leading a team through market execution.

– Excellent knowledge of traditional and digital advertising mediums.

– Systems thinker and a quantitative approach to problem solving business challenges, you don’t shy away from ambiguity.

– Strong business judgement and communication skills with an emphasis on written skills.
